Education & Certifications

Greg Auchard holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Ashland University and is both a Certified Resilience Coach and Certified High Adversity Resilience Training Instructor. His professional expertise is grounded in decades of real-world experience in high-stress, high-stakes environments.

Military Service & Leadership Foundation

Greg’s resilience journey began with his service in the U.S. Army, where he served as a UH-1 “Huey” helicopter crew chief and door gunner. His military career included overseas duty in Germany and service with the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper and non-commissioned officer. These experiences shaped his understanding of leadership, discipline, and performing under extreme pressure.

30+ Years on the Front Lines as a Paramedic

Following his military service, Greg Auchard dedicated more than 30 years as a paramedic, serving his community on the front lines of crisis. During this time, he witnessed firsthand the physical and emotional toll that high-adversity professions take—not only on individuals, but also on their families.

He saw colleagues struggle with addiction, depression, divorce, and suicide, reinforcing the urgent need for proactive resilience training rather than reactive solutions. After three decades of responding to emergencies that were already out of control, Greg shifted his focus toward prevention—helping individuals recognize stress patterns early and develop the tools needed to regulate emotions, maintain clarity, and stay grounded in the face of adversity.

A Personal Approach to Resilience

A lifelong connection to horses, dogs, faith, and the natural world has played a critical role in Greg Auchard’s personal resilience. He discovered that animals, particularly horses and dogs, have a unique ability to reflect human emotional states—offering immediate, honest feedback that fosters self-awareness and emotional regulation.

Through these interactions, Greg developed a deeper understanding of his own internal responses and learned to better manage stress and regain control. His faith has provided a foundation of purpose and perspective, while time spent in the wilderness has reinforced a sense of scale—helping him release the need to control every outcome and instead focus on what can be managed with intention and clarity.

The SAGA Resilience Method

Today, Greg Auchard integrates these powerful elements—animal-assisted learning, faith-based perspective, and nature-based experiences—into SAGA Resilience programs. These are combined with cutting-edge neuroscience, AI-driven insights, modern technology, and hands-on training to create a comprehensive approach to resilience and performance.

This wide-ranging approach allows SAGA Resilience to deliver a complete performance training system that empowers leaders, teams, and individuals to become proactive stewards of mental wellness within their organizations and communities.

Mission & Impact

SAGA Resilience is dedicated to creating more capable, durable, proactive, and balanced people and companies by focusing on keeping personnel healthy and strong—rather than reacting to stressors that could have been mitigated.

Through his leadership, Greg Auchard continues to drive a vision of resilience that is practical, sustainable, and deeply human—empowering others to stay strong, focused, and moving forward no matter the circumstances.
